What we help with
The Women's Health Pelvic Pain Clinic is a multidisciplinary service which includes:
- Pain Specialists – doctors with specific experience in the management of women’s health pain conditions
- Gynaecologists with experience in the management of complex endometriosis and pelvic pain
- Women’s Health Clinical Psychologists who specialise in helping patients manage chronic pain
- Women’s Health Physiotherapists who specialise in the management of pelvic pain
- Women’s Health Pain Nurse Specialists who lead the inpatient pain service at Auckland City Hospital and are experienced in the management of women’s health pain conditions
We help women with persistent pelvic pain which may or may not be related to endometriosis. We also help women experiencing pain conditions in pregnancy such as lower back pain, pelvic girdle pain, pubic symphysis dysfunction, sacroiliac joint pain and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Our clinical team manage inpatients and outpatients, allowing for a smooth transition in both directions between hospital and community. We adopt a holistic approach to pain management, aiming to empower women with the skills to manage their condition.
